Tilt-Top Table

The claw and ball feet terminating the gracefully curved legs and the well proportioned turned pedestal identify it as of the Chippendale period about 1760. Hand turned top of solid mahogany and posts of a heavy single piece of mahogany. Legs are hand dovetailed into post and braced on the bottom with handmade iron support. Claw and ball. feet are hand carved. Tilt-top with birdcage, collar and wedge key allowing top to swivel. Specially made top catch of brass duplicates the original antique.
